Stranded Loose Tube Light-Armored Cable (GYTS)

Outdoor stranded loose tube fiber optic cable with a central steel strength member and PSP armor in a PE sheath, for 2 to 144 fiber counts.

Key Features

Core construction, reinforcement and fiber count range of our stranded loose tube armored cable.

250u

Stranded Loose Tube Design

Multiple 250μm fiber loose tubes are stranded around a central steel strength member, supporting cable cores up to 144 fibers.

HYDR

Hydrolysis-Resistant High-Strength Tubes

High-strength loose tubes resist hydrolysis and are specially designed to prevent shrinkage over time.

PSP

PSP Armor Tape

A double-sided plastic-coated steel tape (PSP) is wrapped longitudinally around the cable core for crush resistance and moisture protection.

STL

Central Steel Strength Member

A steel wire at the core center provides tensile strength, PE-sheathed on higher fiber count cables.

FILL

100% Core Filling

Tube and cable core filling compound, plus polypropylene (PP) filler rods where needed, keep the cable fully watertight and symmetrical.

Construction & Configuration

Layer-by-layer breakdown from the central strength member out to the PE sheath.

KEXINGYU GYTS cable construction diagram loose tubes steel core PSP PE sheath
1

Fiber — 250μm in Loose Tube

250μm fibers are positioned in loose tubes made of high-modulus, hydrolysis-resistant plastic.

2

Tube & Core Filling Compound

Water-resistant filling compound inside each tube, plus filling in the gaps of the cable core, blocks water ingress.

3

Central Strength Member — Steel Wire

A steel wire at the center of the core, PE-sheathed on higher fiber count cables, is the metallic strength member the tubes strand around.

4

Loose Tubes (& PP Filler Rods) Stranded Around Core

Loose tubes, together with polypropylene filler rods where the tube count is reduced, are stranded around the strength member into a compact, circular core.

5

PSP — Plastic-Coated Steel Tape

A double-sided plastic-coated steel tape is applied longitudinally over the cable core for crush resistance and moisture protection.

6

PE Sheath

A polyethylene sheath completes the cable, protecting it from ultraviolet radiation in outdoor installation.

Standards & Test Documentation

Design standards, watertight design and environmental temperature ratings.

Design Standard

YD/T 901-2001 & IEC 60794-1

GYTS complies with the YD/T 901-2001 and IEC 60794-1 standards for stranded loose tube light-armored optical cables.

Watertight Design

Four-Point Water Blocking

Steel central strength member, tube filling compound, 100% cable core filling and PSP armor together keep the cable watertight.

Environmental Rating

-40℃ to +70℃

Storage and operating temperature -40℃ to +70℃, with a PE sheath rated for outdoor UV exposure.
